The GSTN has issued Advisory dated 03.03.2025, regarding Enhancements in Biometric Functionality – Allowing Directors to Opt for Biometric Authentication in Their Home State. This update from GSTN enhances flexibility in the biometric authentication process for GST registration applicants.

The Advisory provides as:

New Facility for Promoters/Directors:

Earlier, applicants had to visit the designated jurisdictional GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK). Now, certain Promoters/Directors can complete biometric authentication at any GSK within their Home State, reducing travel and logistical challenges.

Applicability of the Facility

This facility applies to individuals listed in the Promoter/Partner tab for the following types of businesses:
• Public Limited Company
• Private Limited Company
• Unlimited Company
• Foreign Company
Other business types like partnerships, LLPs, and proprietorships are not covered.
